What?? Live-Streaming is the future of SnTRadio.com. Huh??

Christmas came in July when my wife received her new Sony production suite of a pro-SnTRadio.com logo blue leters on a blue and white gradient background.grade digital video camera, lights, and accessories. This is all part of her Digital Cinematography degree from Full Sail University where she is an honor student. I love the fact that she now has the means to make films, videos and do live streaming events. There is an exciting new chapter in the future at SnTRadio.com that will be built on innovative live-streaming. I know many listeners will thrill to the news that our economic base is not dependent upon commercials, but upon revenues generated by live-streaming events including concerts, conferences, and original programming that is “kingdom building” in nature.

The bottom line is when you buy a ticket to a SnT live-stream event, you are helping to support the work of SnTRadio.com. It is a win-win, double blessing situation. You get to see a concert or teacher from the comfort of your home and bless us by buying a ticket. So when you see our posts on Facebook about a live-streaming event, please like and share it with your friends even if you don’t buy a ticket. You can also be a blessing by helping get the word out!

SnT is short for “Spirit and Truth”. The music selections we play conveys the Holy Spirit anointing upon many styles of worship. The informative content of SmT’s social media, like “View From The Wall” with Greg Polla and quality live-streaming event programming will provide the biblical “Truth” to our audience.

Our vision is to eventually live-stream some of our future Internet radio broadcasts that currently being developed. Live, interactive and in HD with the goal of telling the truth and nothing but the truth to the whole world in an engaging and relevant manner. There may even be some original prime time programming dealing with discipleship concepts and signs of the end times. With the multiple channels available to distribute our video content including Roku, YouTube, Facebook Live, Periscope and our SnTRadio.com website, there are virtually no limits or boundaries. Our current production crew includes several individuals who make the live-streaming for Disney’s Night of Joy happen. Quality and excellence are core values.

SnTRadio.com presented its first “Live from Orlando” streaming Concert event to the Album cover featuring Caspar McCloud holding a blue guitar.world in June of 2014, which featured Phil Keaggy and Randy Stonehill. Viewers logged in from over 38 countries outside the USA. A Netflix quality delivery platform was built on the net for that event with an eye to bringing additional live-streaming events. Since then SnTRadio.com has live-streamed three more including the  “ground-breaking” Southern Appalachian Prophecy Conference from Freedom’s Light Church of God in Ball Ground, Georgia  featuring LA Marzulli, Bill Flynn and Pastor Caspar McCloud in October 2015.  Tickets to attend the October 21 -23, 2016 2nd SAPC event are available here: http://www.freedomslightchurchofgod.org/#!sapc/f0c2b  Live-streaming tickets go on sale Monday, August 22nd.

But we are really excited to be partnering with the Chrisagis Brothers to bring you the Legends 2016 Concert live from South Hills Assembly of God in Bethel Park, PA on Saturday, August 20 at 6:30 p.m. A live-streaming ticket is only $10 and you will see five legendary artists. Scott Wesley Brown, Bruce Carroll, Leon Patillo, Steve Camp, and Dave Boyer. This is a line-up that lives up to the name, Legends. Thanks for reading this blog. Please be sociable and share. See you on the Internet. James Burkhardt

Jesus Music and Hot Dog Evangelism

Recently, I had the task to select special Jesus Music for the new Jesus Music Radio show, which will begin streaming Saturday nights on SnTRadio.com from 6 p.m. until Midnight all summer long in advance of launching 10710981_951480128202616_49497769441206796_nJesusMusicRadio.com in the of Fall 2016. Seeing classic Jesus Music album covers and hearing songs from groups like Prodigal and Fireworks caused me to remember The Harvest Rockfest which happened in June of 1982. It was held in outdoors on a Saturday in the parking lot of the Odeum in Villa Park, Il. The artists I remember being there wereProdigal, Marty McCall and Fireworks, Rick Cua, Denny Correll and DeGarmo & Key. I know there were one or two others that I forgot because I missed them when I left around Noon for Ohare Airport to pick up Denny Correll whom I had met on several other occasions and his band who flew in from Los Angeles. I was pretty psyched because I was finally going to meet a bass player from Love Song that I really admire1700317_origd, Jay Truax. He was playing with Denny Correll’s band.  Accompanying them was a drummer and lead guitarist who appeared to be LA session musicians.

The ride to the event was pretty uneventful with Denny chatting away as he caught me up on the going’s on in his life and was intrigued why a successful Christian retailer like me had left that for a risky career in Christian radio. I told him that “the Lord works in mysterious ways.” Once we arrived and unpacked, I finally had a chance to talk with Jay. The drummer pretty well kept to himself and attended to his prized drums… a snare and set of cymbals.

Midway through our conversation, the guitarist wandered over and joined in, telling us about the struggles of trying to make a living in the LA music scene. He spoke fondly of his young wife and brand new baby at home. There was a quiet desperation about him so I told Jay that I’d catch him later and concentrated on my attention on him. It was about 2 p.m. and the sun was bearing down on us so I asked if he wanted a bottle of water or something. He said, “No” but his body language told me otherwise. “It’s my treat. Have you eaten anything yet?”,  I asked. He shook his head from side-to-side. I pointed to the portable concession stand. “Come on, I’ll get you whatever you want to eat,” I said as we made our way from the side of the stage to the back of the enclosed audience area. “But you don’t know me,” he said incredulously. “I just want to share the love of Jesus with you. It is my honor to do this.”  So he ate his Chicago -style hot dog between sips of Coca-cola and he thanked me. Then we parted company as I went to visit with another friend backstage as Rick Cua was about to do his set. Together we marveled at the incredible slide guitar work of Dave Perkins.

At the end of Denny’s early evening set, as he gave an altar call, this guitarist laid down his guitar, leaped off the stage, and gave his life to the Lord in front of everyone without hesitation. I found out later that he had no money nor food for the day. The simple act of buying an obviously hungry musician something to eat was the tipping point where he had a personal experience with the Lord in the form of someone putting the gospel into action. I have never forgotten this lesson of hot dog evangelism.

The last time I spoke to Jay Truax a few years ago he reported that this man was a still a solid believer and serving the Lord in studio music industry on the West Coast. Amazing grace, indeed!

Glory to God, James

Speak Up and Be Counted.

“It is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness.”

So goes the Adlai Steveson adaption of an ancient Chinese proverb from an address he gave to the United Nations General Assembly in 1962. Darkness is growing and it’s time to light a candle by finding our collective voice, speak up and be counted in the national debate. But do so with love, mercy, and compassion or else risk being identified as a “hater” or even worse, as a terrorist.

Have you seen the video by Lisa Haven that reported FBI of recruiting Pastors and ministry leaders to report “suspicious behavior” in a manner like social workers and nurses do to report cases of neglect and physical abuse? Even so, it is time for Believers to rise up as one with unity and speak up for the Biblical principles and core family values that shaped moral standards in America until the 1960’s. My assessment is that it’s now or never. We can no longer remain silent because chaos will be our harvest if silence is what is sown, especially if we get more laws like the bathroom brouhaha (Can you imagine the treatment Steve Taylor could give this concept?) that is based strictly on a subjectivity that is designed to make people feel comfortable rather than objective laws designed to make people safe.  Kudos to Texas and North Carolina for speaking up.

I know it has been a while since my last blog, but some health issues and a hospital stay interrupted my life. Now we’re back on track and rarin’ help you speak up and be counted. The forced respite gave me plenty of time to think ahead and ask, “what if?” As a result, I had a major “aha” moment when I seriously pondered how to make SnTRadio.com the best Internet radio destination ever.

So we decided to give our listeners the opportunity to speak up and be counted… first in social media and eventually on-the-air.

We began by launching relevant and new pages on Facebook like VIEW FROM THE WALL with Greg Polla and adding the daily devotional MORNING MANNA to our SnTRadio.com fan page to spark conversation and provide valuable content designed to make you think. This is just the beginning. New high-touch programs are in development and will come to light in the Fall of 2016 providing for the truth to be told and hurting people to be helped.  Plus, SnT will make the act of listening, even more, fun and personal.

Thanks for allowing me to speak up and be counted. Now it’s your turn. Please share your comments below.

Donald Trump and Don Francisco’s Balaam

Don Francisco - Got to tell Somebody

The final verse goes, “The Lord’s the one who makes the choice of the instrument He’s using. We don’t know the reasons and the plans behind his choosing.” I think this sentiment applies perfectly to the GOP frontrunner, Donald Trump.

I’ll admit that I watch the campaign process like a sports fan because I find the whole thing fascinating.  After witnessing the Fox News/Facebook debate on March 3rd descend to the level of a Jerry Springer Show, I had to speak up.  My full disclosure is: I subscribed to Marco Rubio’s email list right after he announced his candidacy for President of the United States, but I have not decided yet for whom I will vote in the Florida primary on March 15th. Consider me one of those “late deciders” so desired by all the campaigns.

Ever since Trump made his way down the escalators at Trump Towers last June 2015, I have been following his campaign very closely because last February, Kim Clement announced that God was making “Trump a trumpet.”  Others prophetic voices have characterized Donald Trump as a “wrecking ball”, “bulldozer” or a “King Cyrus” (Isaiah 45) archetype who changed Israel. Both Dr. Michael Brown and Dr. Lance Wallnau  have been offering thought-provoking insights recently on Periscope and Facebook video about Donald Trump and describe him using those terms.

We are living at a time where evil is rising and we need righteousness to again become the standard. The human condition of sin is blatantly obvious. But I believe God in His mercy is about to give the Church, the United States, and the world yet one more chance to repent and turn from its wicked ways and embrace the salvation message of Jesus Christ before the end comes.

“2 Peter 3:1-18:1 Dear friends, this is now my second letter to you. I have written both of them as reminders to stimulate you to wholesome thinking. 2 I want you to recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and the command given by our Lord and Savior through your apostles. 3 First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4 They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” 5 But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water. 6 By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. 7 By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men. 8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. 11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives 12 as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. 13 But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness. 14 So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. 15 Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. 16 He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction. 17 Therefore, dear friends, since you already know this, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from your secure position. 18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.”

Students of Bible Prophecy know that a stage must be set for the Anti-Christ, the False Prophet, and a one-world government to take power. My belief is that God will set the stage and not a man or Satan. Just like when Jesus walked the earth, Satan and man conspired to kill him yet God had the ultimate “trump card” — Resurrection Power, which raised Jesus from the dead and defeated the enemy forever.

So now we see the battle lines being drawn like David with a slingshot standing up to the Philistine Goliath or Samson armed only with the jawbone of an ass to fight an army there is an independent change agent who is beholden to no one but the God who gave Donald Trump the ability to create massive wealth challenging and exposing the corruption of the entrenched powers of government and media. (Deuteronomy 8:18 NKJV “And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.)

Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV) “12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,[a] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” My thought is if Trump is actually God’s instrument for this hour then the media’s and the political establishment’s attempt to circumvent Trump’s candidacy is physical evidence of the spiritual conflict referred to above and like Daniel in a Lion’s den or Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, no harm will come to them.

There’s a long time yet before the Convention and the General Election and a lot can happen. My suspicion is that voices against will get louder and the attacks become more and more vicious. But God’s hand will protect and favor him to such an extent that no harm will befall Mr. Trump and his support will increase to the utter amazement and marvel of everyone. That will be the irrefutable proof that Trump is actually God’s instrument. Like the song says:

“That donkey’s just a donkey, but she’s still the thing God used. And that’s the point I want you all to see.

The big takeaway for me is to see how much the body of Christ has transferred their trust away from the power of God and into man-made institutions.  There is a great lack of the fruit of the Spirit mentioned in Galatians 5:22-23 being demonstrated in the public and social media forums. I see and hear a lot of anger, hate, arrogance and intolerance. (NKJV 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law)

Judgment always comes first to the House of the Lord. Big revelations are ahead and more sins will be exposed as this shaking continues. It;s time to clean up because Jesus is soon coming back for a bride without blemish.

Jesus Music Is Different From Today’s Christian Music

Most people today have not heard any Jesus Music because it happened long before 2000 AD.

Blame it on the desire by so many programming today’s Christian radio and churches to be perceived as “relevant” but there is an unwritten rule not to feature any songs recorded last century during worship or on the radio. Many Jesus Music pioneers who are actively performing today get very little airplay and tend to draw small concert crowds. Yet when one hears Jesus Music, it is instantly recognized as a “Christian” song compared to some of today’s Christian Music.

Last week I was chatting on Facebook with Al Cox, who has just launched a new public group “CCM & Christian Rock of the 80’s & 90’s” (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1713244062229156/) when he commented that at 42 years old, he never tires of the “classics”. “Neither do I” was my response when he said something that was so profound,

“Yeah, something about the music then that isn’t there now.”

Boom! Did that get me thinking. I’ve been listening to Christian Music since the mid-1960’s. I founded SnTRadio.com in part to curate all the Christian Music that I could get my hands on since the Jesus Movement and place it into an on-going and ever expand music archive online. My intention has been to educate and inspire future generations with an accurate musical timeline, which takes listeners all the way back to the roots. You can read through the majority of the hard-to-find Jesus Music portion of the archive while listening to SnT Radio here. Then Al added;

“Some of the stuff today including rock, really lyrically you can not tell if it is Christian or not. You knew it with, Dion, Dallas Holm, Carman, Petra, and others.”

Jesus Music artist Dion on the cover of his 1981 album, Only Jesus" is a side-view of his head and upper chest.

I think a couple of distinctions need to be made in order to fully understand the good, the bad and the ugly concerning the current state of Christian Music. First, in my opinion, there are only two distinct forms of Christian music being produced: one is strictly for commercial purposes (profit), and the second is for worship and edification of the church. All the major Christian labels are now subsidiaries of secular record companies like Sony and Capitol.

Vague lyrics or just the mention of Jesus in a pop song doesn’t make it “Christian” per se. On the other hand, Jesus spoke in many parables to effectively communicate the Gospel and describe the Kingdom of God. He did this so a mass audience would understand His teaching. Knowing when and how much to quote the Bible is as much a matter of discernment as is reducing God’s Word to a readable bumper sticker. Overkill never works well. It normally ends badly with the exact opposite of the desired outcome. Al the added,

“I saw a recent Christian rock title called “CoConut Dracula”. I don’t even think of horror things when I think of Christ. Yeah, that’s why I don’t listen to much new stuff.”

I fully get bands like Mute Math or Stryper, (Michael Sweet) or Switchfoot saying “we’re not a Christian band, but a band comprised of musicians who happen to be Christ-followers.” Even U2, one of the biggest bands in the world for the past 25 years started out playing sets dominate with Christian message songs for Christian youth rallies in Ireland until they elected to make a change in bass players who was not a professing Christian. Yet one of the highlights of every U2 performance is the song 40 (based on Psalm 40) that ends with thousands singing the chorus acapella as single spotlight tightly focuses on Bono’s crucifix that’s dangling from a microphone stand in the darken hall or stadium. In these days where non-Christlike activity (aka sin) is saturating the media, the Internet, and every aspect of society even a little light shines brightly.

The fact that a large segment of popular Christian Music is designed for radio with sales and profit as the driving force is not at all surprising because they have dividends to pay to their stakeholders. The key distinction is the primary motive for creating the music. One is for making money and profit. The other is to worship God on earth as it is in Heaven.

Modern worship from the likes of Hillsong, Bethel Music and IHOP-KC have all shared roots in common with the seminal worship & praise bodywork of Keith Green, Andrae Crouch, The Vineyard, Integrity and Maranatha Music from the Jesus Movement of the 70’s, The Vineyard and Integrity from the 80’s afterglow.

The influence of Morningstar Ministries musicians Don Potter and Leonard Jones combined with the teaching of Ray Hughes over the three decades have been a bridge from the old “worship & praise” to the now sound that is fueling the new uncompromised and spontaneous worship cherished by so many of the millennial generation. Giving glory to God and encountering the manifest presence of God is the driving motive behind the creation of this worship music. Pure, genuine, and authentic vertical lyrics that lead listeners into an atmosphere of Heavenly worship described in Revelation 4 and 5 is the goal. The songs and psalmists that break through into this lofty realm become the modern hymns churches sing with regularity.

My response to Al’s original statement was “I believe that it is a kind of anointing by the Spirit of God that was present during the Jesus Movement.” Even though there were “Christian” record labels back in the day the music was created in most cases to glorify God as a priority and make money if possible. It appeared that God honored and blessed it. When Christian Music became more of a business, Jesus Music faded somewhere along the way until a few went back to creating music in worship to God as in Heaven. So now you have the true spirit of the Jesus Movement sweeping through and stirring up a whole new community of worshippers to benefit the body of Christ. This is a real move of God and I’m expecting a revisitation upon this generation like we saw in the late 60’s and 70’s.

Worship Set Christian Music Playlist Keys from SnTRadio.com

Every two hours Monday through Saturday,  SnTRadio.com plays a 25 – 30-minute mini-worship set. (Sundays are 24 solid hours of commercial free Worship and Praise songs.)

Sometimes, this pre-recorded praise and worship set is identified by  a “wpa” suffix like  SnT008wpa. Other times, these are made by sequencing several mp3 or AAC files to create a listener worship experience from our massive 50-year archive of online Christian Music. Either way, this intentional Worship and Praise programming is a hallmark, which differentiates SnTRadio.com from all other stations that play some flavor of Christian Music.

There is a wide variety of artists and genres. Nowhere else can you hear classic Keith Green, Tommy Coomes, Kelly Willard (Maranatha), Lamb or Andrae Crouch combined with Michael W. Smith, Christofari, Karen Davis, Israel Houghton, Chris Tomlin, Misty Edwards (IHOP), Casey Corum (Vineyard), Leonard Jones , Don Potter (Morningstar), Hillsong,  Brian Johnson, Jeremy Riddle (Bethel Music), Kim Clement, Martha Munizzi, Ray Hughes,  James Nesbit & Tribe Quantum, Rick Pino, Paul Wilbur, Rita Springer and House of Peace. SnTRadio.com has culled the vertically oriented songs to the Lord written by many popular artists since the Jesus Movement and included them as part of the widely inclusive worship music category.

More Christian Music Playlist Secrets Revealed

Here are more keys to unlock those mysterious Christian Music sets you see every few hours on SnTRadio.com.

Pre-recorded 25-minute Christian Music sets have populated the playlist ever since SnTradio.com launched on Memorial Day 2009. These were designed to ensure top audio playback quality, volume, and mix flow throughout the day. These were the dark ages before better-sounding AAC’s and other sonic improvements were made for streaming audio content.SnT Radio pre-programmed three different sets: a general music set  SnT000a, a mini-worship set SnT000wpa, and an artist retrospective set ArtistBP, which can only be heard on Saturdays.

The backstory on how artist “block party” retrospective sets is in 2010, the famed Orlando Water Park Wet’N’Wild was holding their second annual Waves of Glory Battle of the Bands and asked SnTRadio.com founder James Burkhardt to emcee the event. Waves of Glory then became the first event in a series of SnTRadio.com summertime celebrations clustered under the “SnT Summer of Fun” theme which covered Memorial Day through Labor Day. A major part of this promotion was to give away a “Family four-pack” off admissions to Wet’N’Wild, which were given as promotional consideration. Every week for 13 weeks during June, July and August featured an artist and listeners could enter to win a Family Four-pack just by sending an email when they heard

A major part of this promotion was to give away a “Family four-pack” off admissions to Wet’N’Wild, which were given as promotional consideration. Every week for 13 weeks during June, July and August featured an artist and listeners could enter to win a Family Four-pack just by sending an email with the song title and time when they heard  a song by the featured artist of the week. Winners were announced on Saturdays at 12:30 p.m. just after the artist block party set aired. the Block Parties were aired on Saturdays when listeners were awarded

Now, revealed for the very first time ever are four SnTRadio.com Artist Block Party set listings which originally aired during 2010’s Summer of Fun promotion.
